Raytheon On-Orbit AEHF Satellite

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has become the first to successfully test with the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite. Raytheon's Army Secure Mobile Anti-jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T) is the first operationally-fielded terminal to interoperate with an on-orbit AEHF satellite.
The first AEHF satellite, launched in August 2010, recently began an extensive set of operational tests.

Raytheon Company's (NYSE: RTN) One Force communications solution successfully linked soldiers' smart phones and tablets during the recent U.S. Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE) at Fort Benning, Ga. It was the first time that data, voice and video over the hand-held commercial devices were simultaneously transmitted over both 3G and military tactical radios without any interruptions in service. 

Soldiers were able to see everyone's position in the group, talk over the networks, exchange data messages and view live streaming video from an unmanned aircraft system (UAS). They were also able to collaborate on their devices using a feature called "white boarding," which is similar to the tool that diagrams replays on televised football games. Pictures drawn on one smart phone or tablet were immediately communicated

The latest Raytheon Excalibur precision projectile is cleared for operational use in Afghanistan, after proving its capability in firing tests carried out by the United States Army.
Once in Afghanistan, the advanced 1a-2 version of the M982 Excalibur 155mm guided artillery shell, originally developed by Raytheon and BAE Systems, will be used by both the US Marines and the US Army.
The Excalibur precision shell's meant to have the power to strike with limited collateral damage and, in 2007, it was judged by US Army officials as among that year's greatest military innovations.

Raytheon Will Integrate Griffin on AT-6 Light Attack Aircraft

Raytheon is seeking to integrate the combat-proven Griffin missile onto the Hawker AT-6 light attack aircraft.
Griffin weighs 44 pounds with its launch tube, is 43 inches long and is an air- and ground-launched, precision-guided missile designed for rapid integration onto rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft and ground-launch applications.

Raytheon has completed design and testing of a prototype dual-band datalink that will enable interoperability between the Standard Missile family of interceptors and a wider variety of radars and ships.
"The dual-band datalink will allow for greatly expanded NATO participation in the European Phased Adaptive Approach," said Dr. Taylor Lawrence, president of Raytheon Missile Systems.

"This advancement bridges a critical technology gap in air defense interoperability between U.S. and allied nations."
