Indonesia will purchase 24 used F-16s and nine C-295s

 

The Indonesian air force is to receive 24 former US Air National Guard Lockheed Martin F-16 fighters and nine Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI)/Airbus Military C-295 medium transports.

The plans were announced by defence minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro in a story posted by Indonesia's official news agency Antara.

This aircraft is part of a three aircraft order placed by the EAF in October 2010. The other two aircraft are to be delivered during the last quarter of 2011.

The C295 was selected for its versatility and adaptability, especially in desert areas, its ease of maintenance and low life cycle cost, as well as its operational capabilities.

France Eyes Public-Private Lease for Tanker

 

PARIS - The French government is leaning toward a public-private partnership (PPP) lease deal to acquire a fleet of 14 multirole tanker transport (MRTT) aircraft, a Defense Ministry official said Sept. 29.

Talks are being held on the basis of a lease and a traditional purchase, said Hughes Bied-Charreton, director of financial affairs for the secretary-general for the administration.

MILTECH Lockheed Martin Will Provide New Training Technology for the US Air Force C-130J Program

 

The U.S. Air Force awarded Lockheed Martin an $84.3 million contract to provide the first phase of the C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System (MATS) II program.
Under the award, Lockheed Martin will deliver four weapons systems trainers for aircrew instruction and provide program management and engineering services.

The Air Mobility Command, Air Combat Command and Air Force Special Operations Command will begin instruction on the weapons systems trainers in 2014.

INDONESIA LOOKING C-27J TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT

 

Indonesia Looking to buy an unspecified number of Alenia Aeronautica C-27J Spartans to augment its fleet of military transport aircraft.

It will assess the aircraft based on its "operation requirements, technical specifications [and] logistics support", says air force chief Air Chief Marshal Imam Sufaat.

Apart from the C-27Js, the service is also reportedly considering the Airbus Military C-295 that is licence-produced in Bandung by state-owned Indonesian Aerospace.

INDIA WILL PURCHASE 10 C-17 GLOBEMASTER FROM USA

The Indian Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), the country’s final arbiter on defense and security issues, has approved the purchase of ten C-17 Globemaster III heavy lift aircraft.

The order is expected to be worth USD 4.1 billion.
