Spain Will Host U.S. Ships for NATO Missile Defense

 

Spain and the U.S. have announced that Spain will provide a base for U.S. ships in support of NATO's missile defense system.

US Says THAAD Anti-Missile Test Successful

 

The Pentagon said Oct. 5 it intercepted two ballistic missiles in a successful test of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) weapon system.

It was the first operational test of the system aimed at intercepting missiles at high altitude in the final stage of their trajectory, officials said.

MSPO: new motorised MANPADS design fills air-defence 'gap'

Bumar Group's Mesko and Telesystem-Mesko divisions presented a new unit-level air-defence system at Poland's MSPO exhibition.

The Kus 29 (Crossbow) system consists of two modernised Grom man-portable air-defence system (MANPADS) missiles mounted on a specialised launch rack fitted on the back of a Polaris all-terrain vehicle. 

S-400 AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM

 

The strategic command of Russia's space defense forces took delivery of its second unit of S-400 Triumf missile systems on Wednesday, which will be based in the Moscow Region, Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Vladimir Drik said.

Until now, the Russian forces have had only one unit of S-400s, based at Electrostal, near Moscow.

INDIA WILL GET LONG RANGE AIR TO AIR MISSILES

 

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is scouting the global arms market for stand-off missiles for its modern fighter jets to shore up their capability to shoot down enemy aircraft beyond visual range, an officer said Monday.

The IAF has issued a request for information (RFI) to global manufacturers of stand-off missiles fitted with light warheads that are capable of hitting enemy planes without engaging them in close dogfights, the officer said here.
