The Raytheon-Boeing JAGM features a fully integrated tri-mode seeker that incorporates semi-active laser, uncooled imaging infrared and millimeter wave guidance. The system leverages proven components from other Raytheon and Boeing programs, including the Raytheon Small Diameter Bomb II and Boeing aircraft launchers.
Raytheon and Boeing have proven capabilities that were showcased in the JAGM technology demonstration phase. The team enters the competition with an unmatched 3-for-3 record of success in the contractually required guided test vehicle flights. One of the reasons for the team's success is the use of a proven, tri-mode seeker incorporating semi-active laser, uncooled imaging infrared and millimeter wave guidance.
JAGM will ultimately be employed from a variety of aircraft, including the Super Hornet (F/A-18E/F), Apache Longbow (AH-64D), Seahawk (MH-60R), Super Cobra (AH-1Z), Gray Eagle (MQ-1C) and Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters (OH-58 CASUP). Integration onto the six platforms is a key JAGM issue, and Boeing will take full advantage of its prowess as the manufacturer of the Apache Longbow and the Super Hornet.
