China will make 30 submarines by 2020

The Chinese Navy is expected to procure 30 more submarines by 2020 and bring the total from the current 62 to 100 by 2030, Hong Kong's Ming Pao daily reported on Tuesday.

According to the paper, the U.S. has 75 subs, 26 of them deployed in the Asia-Pacific region. China is building up its Navy, including retrofitting its first aircraft carrier.

China successfully launched the remote-sensing satellite Yaogan XIII Wednesday from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the northern province of Shanxi, according to a press release from the center.


The satellite was carried into space aboard a Long March 2C carrier rocket at 2:50 a.m. Beijing time, according to the center.

Germany Deliver Air-Defense Radar to Israel

Raytheon On-Orbit AEHF Satellite

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has become the first to successfully test with the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite. Raytheon's Army Secure Mobile Anti-jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T) is the first operationally-fielded terminal to interoperate with an on-orbit AEHF satellite.
The first AEHF satellite, launched in August 2010, recently began an extensive set of operational tests.

Second AirMule Construction Prototype Has Begun

Urban Aeronautics has begun the construction of the second prototype of its AirMule UAV. Dr. Rafi Yoeli, President of Urban Aeronautics, said that the prototype is being constructed in parallel to the improvements being made on the first prototype.
